Who knew what, and when?
These are the questions that Kristi's Kids have been asking since we first learned of the heartbreaking case of little Roman Barreras.
According to the newly-formed Division of Child Safety and Family Services, there were numerous calls to the CPS hotline for Roman and his family.
Perhaps the most disturbing occurred on January 10th of this year. It was call to the CPS hotline. That's the very hotline that has been the source of so much recent controversy surrounding the way the state has handled cases of child abuse and neglect.
During the call, an anonymous source said Roman hadn't been seen for possibly up to one year. The caller also said Roman didn't attend the last Halloween party. At that time, the exact address for the family was unknown.
That call was classified not as a ‘report' but rather, as a ‘communication.' Authorities now say this classification was inaccurate.
We also know Roman has been under the child welfare radar since he was born. A report was made the day after his birth in July, 2010.
Reports were also made in October and November, 2012.
The News 4 Tucson Investigators are continuing to sift through these just-released details, and we'll have much more on this tonight on News 4 Tucson at 10pm.
