"Saguaro Soaker" arrives tonight

TUCSON - As advertised over the last several days, big changes coming to the forecast starting later on tonight.

Here's a quick breakdown of what to expect from News 4 Tucson Meteorologist Jeff Beamish:

TIMING: Isolated showers start late tonight, increasing to widespread coverage tomorrow and Saturday. Showers taper off to the scattered variety Sunday. May see a few lingering showers early Monday morning, but bulk of the precip will be done with.

RAIN TOTALS: 0.50-1.00" across Graham, Greenlee & Cochise Counties. 1-2" possible for Tucson and points west.

SNOWFALL: Winter Storm Watch Friday night through Sunday morning. Snow level drops to 7,500 feet late tomorrow night. 6-12" snow for Mt. Lemmon, 12-18" in the White Mountains.

TEMPERATURE/WINDS: Highs Friday in the upper 60's, barely reaching 60° Saturday and Sunday. Gusty southwest winds up to 20 MPH tomorrow and Saturday.

SENSIBLE WEATHER IMPACTS: Running washes this weekend, snow-covered roads for areas above 7,000 feet. A few towns may set daily rainfall records. Rain will be on & off (heavy at times) for El Tour de Tucson and the UA/Oregon football game.
