TUCSON - Monsoon 2014 is back & ready to produce beneficial rainfall heading into the weekend.
A mid-level disturbance slowly moves north from Sonora the next few days, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Scattered storms are possible this afternoon through the overnight hours. Locally heavy rainfall will be the primary threat with storms today.
Scattered storm chances continue tomorrow through the weekend. Models indicate most of southern Arizona seeing 0.50-1.00" rain, with isolated higher amounts. The best chance of storms appears to be Friday and Saturday.
Drier air moves in from the west next week, decreasing the thunder threat & raising temperatures back to triple digits in Tucson.
