Saguaro vandal ordered to chop wood by a judge

TUCSON - On of two local men convicted of Federal violations for vandalizing parts of Saguaro National Park East will chop wood as part of his sentence.

Beau Campbell and Colton Salazar vandalized one Saguaro, two barrel cacti and one Palo Verde tree last year.

Campbell was sentenced to one year of probation and 30 hours of community service.

Salazar was ordered to buy a half cord of wood, four-feet in length and chop it into two-foot lengths with an ax. A probation officer will watch him do it.

Campbell will be allowed to help Salazar perform his sentencing duty as part of his community service, according to the Judge.
