Connecticut officials have released a preliminary report on the investigation into the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre.
The report released late Monday afternoon is the first public look inside the investigation into the deadly attack at the school.
Evidence shows the massacre lasted about five minutes, as 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot his way into the locked school building, then killed 20 students and six teachers, firing more than 150 rounds during the rampage.
A timeline in the document shows officers were on the scene less than four minutes after the first 9-1-1 call at 9:35 that morning, and that Lanza killed himself within a minute of the initial police response.
The report says Lanza acted alone and, "planned his actions including the taking of his own life".
It does not suggest any motive.
