TUCSON - The start of the Rich Rod era may involve a slight chance of using the umbrella.
Enough Monsoon moisture will be in play to pop hit & miss storms, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Tucson tops out in the upper 90's during the afternoon tailgate, with isolated storms possible after the noon hour. Any storm that develops will be brief and shouldn't wash out any outdoor plans.
By tonight's 7:30 PM kickoff between the Wildcats and Rockets, temps drop to the low 90's with a few isolated storms lingering. The thunder threat diminishes greatly as the game goes on, with partly cloudy skies and temps in the 80's from halftime through the final quarter.
