TUCSON - All the ingredients are in place for a loud Thursday across southern Arizona.
High pressure over the Four Corners will help fuel scattered storms today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The favored areas for these storms will be along and west of a Nogales-Tucson-Safford line. Storms should fire up in the mountains around lunchtime & drift into the valley floors after 2 PM.
Storms will be capable of gusty winds, which may produce a dust storm along I-10. A high haboob threat exists north of Marana and east of Benson this afternoon and evening.
Another round of scattered storms is possible for the 4th of July, most of which will occur during the daytime hours. The Monsoon winds down to the isolated, hit & miss variety for the weekend and early next week.
