Several restrictions on I-10 near Benson as ADOT completes overpass

TUCSON - Motorists on Interstate 10 and State Route 90 (SR90) should expect restrictions while traveling Friday, November 16, 2012, and Monday, November 19, 2012.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will be placing lane markings on the ramps to the new overpass near Benson.

On Friday, November 16, 2012, the restrictions will include the right lane of westbound I-10 being closed half a mile east of SR90 and half a mile west of the over pass. This will be from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Another restriction for motorists will take place between 6 a.m. and about noon. During this time, the off-ramp onto State Route 90 will be closed. According to a news release, motorists heading west and wanting to use SR-90 during the closure can detour to Mescal Road, Exit 297, where they can re-enter eastbound I-10 and exit at SR 90.

On Monday, November 18, 2012, restrictions will include: the right lane of eastbound I-10 being closed, the I-10 on-ramp at SR90 being closed and the eastbound ramp to SR90 being closed.

The I-10 on-ramp at SR90 will be closed about 6 hours, from 6 a.m. to noon. Any motorists wishing to enter eastbound I-10 during the time of the detour can detour to Mescal Road where they can re-enter eastbound I-10.
Another restriction will be through half a mile west of SR 90 to half a mile past the overpass, where I-10's right lane will be closed between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The final restriction on Monday will take place between noon and 5 p.m. During this time, the eastbound off ramp to SR 90 will be closed. There will be a detour for eastbound motorists wanting to access State Route 90. According to a news release from ADOT, motorists will be detoured to Ocotillo Road, Exit 304, and there they can re-enter westbound I-10 and exit at SR90.
