Severe thunderstorm slams Tucson

TUCSON - Monsoon storm slams Tucson metro Saturday afternoon.

High winds, heavy rain and hail reported across Tucson as storm turned severe Saturday afternoon around 4:15pm.

More than 0.50" of rain was reported in 15 minutes at the Pima County Fairgrounds and some locations recorded over an inch of rain:

Ruthrauff at La Cholla Blvd: 1.10"

Houghton at Pantano: 1.02"

Sunrise at Ventana Canyon: 0.91"

Swan at Calle del Pantera: 0.67"

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for Tucson's east side with street flooding reported along Houghton Road from Golf Links all the way to the Corona de Tucson area.

As the storm moved from east to west across the city it snapped 6 power poles near Irvington and Old Spanish Trail. A 58mph wind gust was reported near the Davis-Monthan Airforce Base.
