A severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Tucson Metro, Oro Valley and Marana areas.
NWS says the storm is capable of producing heavy wind and rain. The severe thunderstorm warning is in affect until 6:15 p.m., a flash flood warning is in affect until 6:45 p.m. and a flood advisory is in affect until 7 p.m.
AT 415 PM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND
DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR
VAIL...OR 19 MILES NORTHEAST OF GREEN VALLEY...AND MOVING NORTHWEST
AT 10 MPH.FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
EAST CENTRAL PIMA COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...
RADAR WAS SHOWING A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IMPACTING PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN GREATER TUCSON AREA. VERY HEAVY RAINFALL HAS BEEN PRODUCING SOME STREET FLOODING ALONG HOUGHTON ROAD FROM GOLF
LINKS SOUTH TO THE COMMUNITY OF CORONA DE TUCSON. THESE STORMS
WERE MOVING SLOWING TOWARD THE WEST.
