Shields Named ACCAC Player of the Week

The Pima Community College women's soccer team got its first recognition from the ACCAC conference this season.
Sophomore forward Shannon Shields (Sabino HS) was named the ACCAC Player of the Week on Tuesday for the week of Aug. 25-31 as she helped push the Aztecs to a 2-0 record this week. She scored three goals with one assist in Pima's 10-1 win over South Mountain Community College and netted Pima's goal in its 1-0 win over Phoenix College.

Shields is tied in the conference for most points (seven) and goals (three). Rachel Ridlinghafer (Ironwood Ridge HS) leads the conference in assists (four) and goalkeeper Angelica Gonzalez (Palo Verde HS) is second in saves (24).
