Situation at UofA slowly returning to normal

TUCSON - An inspection of the UA Administration Building continues, after University of Arizona Police evacuated everyone inside Friday.

In a tweet about 7:30 p.m., the university stated "The campus is open EXCEPT for the administration bldg during this on-going investigation." However, in a tweet sent out almost 30 minutes later, the university said "Police have a perimeter around the Admin bldg. Please avoid the area immediately around admin. Student Union is temporarily closed."

The Tucson Police Bomb Squad is confirmed to be on the scene, as well as ATF to assist.

On Friday afternoon, police sent out a text reading, "Man with gun report of a man with a rifle in the Administration Building. UAPD on scene. Stay away from the area."

UAPD says a call came in to 911 at 4:52 p.m.

The Administration Building and Modern Languages Building were evacuated as a precaution.
