TUCSON - A southwest side neighborhood is honoring the youngest victim of the January 8th shootings by naming a skate park after her.

City leaders unveiled the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Skate Park Saturday. It's located at Grijalva Park.

Tucson City Councilmember Regina Romero says an anonymous donor gave $7,500 to build it. The Midvale Park Homeowners Association matched the donation with another $7,500.

She says residents in the area felt compelled to give back in Christina-Taylor's honor. Romero says, "As a little girl in a short life she wanted to get involved, she wanted to get involved in her community. She wanted to do sports and make it better. and, you know, that's an inspiration, and that re-focused all of us to do the right thing."

The Tucson Parks Foundation helped facilitate the construction and financing of the skate park and neighbors worked hard to gather signatures to support the naming and dedication.
