Slow work week warm-up for the Sonoran Desert

TUCSON - Temps trending upward over the next several days.

According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, Tucson dropped to 35° this morning & Douglas set a record cold low of 22°. Highs today rebound into the upper 60's to low 70's, which is 4-6 degrees above average. Expect mostly sunny skies with some high cirrus clouds drifting in from Baja California.

Lows tonight won't be as cold as last night, with only the far eastern reaches of Cochise County dropping at or below freezing.

A dry westerly flow aloft moderates temperatures in the coming days, with upper 70's to low 80's returning by late week. Friday sees a weak low pressure trough clipping northern Arizona. This may touch off an isolated shower or two in the mountains, but valley floors should be high and dry.

Chamber of Commerce weather is in the cards for the weekend, just in time for El Tour de Tucson.
