TUCSON - Winter storm puts the finishing touches on 2012.
Many locations woke up to a white New Year's Eve as snow levels plummeted to 3,500 feet this morning. According to Meteorologist John Patrick, Southern Arizona towns such as Bisbee and Douglas picked up 3-6" of the white stuff with Mt. Lemmon an additional 8-10". Valley rain totals were generally between 0.25-0.50" with Tucson International picking up 0.24".
Rain and snow is forecast to taper off late this morning and into the early afternoon with the chilly temperatures sticking around. Tucson is only expected to top 49 this afternoon with a widespread freeze and frost expected to kick off 2013.
