TUCSON - Southwest Gas is experiencing a low odorant level in its pipelines in Southeast Arizona and Eastern Pima County, impacting the distribution system.
A natural gas leak will smell like rotten eggs, but until further notice, people in the area should not rely on their sense of smell to detect natural gas.
It is important that the public is alert to signs of a gas leak, which includes hissing or blowing sounds, standing water continuously bubbling, dirt or water blowing in the air, or decay in vegetation.
