PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne is reportedly being investigated by the State Bar over allegations stemming from an investigation into campaign finance violations.
The Bar licenses and regulates attorneys.
The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/TCoJbM) reported Monday that Horne has been notified of the investigation. An after-hours call to Horne seeking comment wasn't immediately returned Monday afternoon.
Horne and employee Kathleen Winn are accused of illegally coordinating with an independent expenditure committee during the 2010 election.
Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery is pursuing a civil enforcement action against Horne and Winn.
Winn chaired the committee and then went to work as Horne's director of community outreach.
Horne and Winn have said they've done nothing wrong and that they will be vindicated during legal proceedings scheduled in January.
