TUCSON - Tumamoc Hill is one of Tucson's best spots for an amazing view of the Old Pueblo and thanks to the work of Tucson Police, it's now much safer.
Every day just about dusk hundreds of people park their cars near St. Mary's Hospital and Tumamoc Hill, before making the trek up the mountain. Those unattended cars were too much for one thief to resist.
On Tuesday night at approximately 7:30, two Tucson Police Officers were flagged down and were told that several cars had been broken in to.
After searching the surrounding area the officers tracked down a suspect. The officers then found items belonging to more than 6 victims in the man's car. TPD was able to find and return those stolen items to five of the victims.
The suspect was taken to the Pima County Jail and booked on counts related to three separate incidents involving vehicle break-ins.
Police say that not only should you remember to lock your car but be sure and to keep any valuable items out of sight.
