TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A high school senior has been arrested after a cleaning woman found an improvised explosive device and other materials inside a Tempe home where she was working.
Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Pooley says the woman took the device to a fire station after finding it Tuesday. Firefighters notified police, and the bomb squad responded and disabled the device.
The woman told authorities there were more materials at the home and showed them photos she had taken.
Pooley says detectives are still searching the home. He did not release any details.
Pooley identified the teen as 18-year-old Joshua Prater, a senior at Marcos de Niza High School. He has been arrested for misconduct involving weapons, possessing a prohibited weapon and improvised explosive device.
It wasn't immediately clear if Prater had legal representation.
