TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for eastern Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties from 10 AM until 7 PM today.
Gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels increases the fire danger, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. West-southwest winds today peak around 20-25 MPH, as a low pressure trough moves in from the Pacific Northwest. Outdoor burning is not recommended east of Metro Tucson today.
Highs this afternoon reach the upper 90's in Tucson under mostly sunny skies.
Winds increase to 30 MPH tomorrow and Wednesday, possibly creating localized blowing dust on I-10. Temperatures drop to the low/mid 90's by mid week, with 80's in the forecast by Thursday.
A sneak peek at the Memorial Day forecast shows temperatures running below average with a slight chance of mountain showers.
