TUCSON - A storm system currently moving through California will enter Arizona by Saturday cooling temperatures down from the 90s to the 80s. The other thing headed this way: winds.
With a very dry air-mass in place, fire danger will be very high across Southern Arizona. Red Flag Warnings are posted for the entire region through 9 p.m. Saturday. A Wind Advisory has also been issued for much of Cochise, Santa Cruz, Graham and Greenlee Counties through 8 p.m.
Southwest to west winds will increase throughout the day and gust to near 45 mph in the most wind prone regions. This could create blowing dust along the roadways, and any fires that develop could rapidly grow.
