Toddler discharged from UAMC after near drowning

TUCSON - The nearly two year old girl who nearly drowned Sunday has been released from UAMC.

Hospital officials say CPR saved the child's life. According to Drexel Heights Fire District spokeswomanTracy Koslowski, the little girl was found in an above ground swimming pool Sunday. Neighbors administered CPR and she was taken to UAMC for further treatment.

This was Pima County's first water incident of the year and a good reminder to follow the ABCs of swim safety:

  • Adult supervision
  • Barriers
  • Classes (Swim lessons are critical when it comes to saving lives)
