TUCSON - An apparent burglary attempt shortly after midnight resulted in a Tucson Police officer discharging one round from his weapon.
It happened in the area of Park Avenue and East 16th Street, near the Union Pacific Railroad offices. An officer with Union Pacific contacted to Tucson Police and alerted them to a possibly burglary in progress.
The responding officer arrived to the Union Pacific building at 925 East Mill and confronted two men, and during the confrontation the officer discharged his weapon.
The two men were taken into custody and no one was hit or injured.
Internal Affairs is now investigating to ensure proper protocol was followed, and officers with the burglary unit are looking into the possible break in.
