TUCSON - The Tucson Police Department says southbound Mission is closed at 36th. The road will be shut down for at least 3 hours due to a traffic accident involving a pedestrian.
The pedestrian is an adult male and was transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. He later died from his injuries.
The vehicle involved fled the scene southbound on Mission Road.
Initial description given is a light colored (possibly silver) Chevy Trailblazer. It should have significant front end damage. Southbound Mission Road will be closed for several hours at 36th Street. Northbound Mission is open. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911 immediately.
