TUCSON - After jury selection on Monday, the murder trial of a man accused of shooting and killing Tucson teen in 2001 began today with opening arguments.

Prosecutors say Max LaMadrid shot Tanee Natividad in the head at an east side Jack in the Box in 2001. Detectives say she wasn't the intended victim.

LaMadrid changed identities and evaded police for nine years, but he was captured by Mexican law enforcement in October 2010, and sat in a Mexican jail until he was extradited to the United States in April 2011.

News 4 Tucson's Lupita Murillo is in the courtroom now - tune in to News 4 Tucson at 4 p.m. for her report.
