Triple digit serving for the final day of Summer

TUCSON - A toasty wrap to Summer 2012 in the Old Pueblo.

All queued up is the 71st triple digit day of the year, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Expect mostly sunny skies this afternoon thanks to high pressure over southern Nevada. Another 100 degree day appears likely Saturday in Tucson, just in time for the first official day of Fall.

Next week features a few changes in the weather department. The first is a low pressure trough that will swing through the northern part of the state, which knocks temperatures back to the 90's starting Sunday.

Late next week, models are hinting at a tropical disturbance moving up the Gulf of California. This may bring a chance of isolated thunderstorms to southern Arizona by Thursday with highs in the low 90's.
