TUCSON - Your weekend plans may involve the umbrella.
A weak disturbance kicks up isolated storms this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Central and western Pima County will be the favored areas for storms due to more Monsoon moisture out west. A few storms may be capable of gusty winds.
Prime time for Friday storms should be 1-9 PM.
Tropical Storm Lorena continues swirling near the southern Baja tip, helping to trigger a moisture surge from the Gulf of California to southern Arizona. Expect scattered storms to resume tomorrow, with the stormiest days coming Sunday - Tuesday.
Locally heavy rainfall may be possible south and west of Tucson, depending on how much cloud cover blankets the area.
