TUCSON- Tucson Police Department arrested a man for sexual exploitation of a minor after catching him in the act.
Steven Cathcart, 33, was arrested Wednesday after TPD's Crimes Against Children Unit and the Child Sexual Assault Unit set him up. A Tucson Police Detective contacted Cathcart pretending to be an underage girl. Both agreed to meet for the purposes of sexual conduct. When Cathcart arrived at their east side meeting location, U.S. Marshals swept in and arrested him.
During an interview, Cathcart admitted to his intentions of meeting the underage girl for sex and revealed he also had sexual conduct with a minor on several other occasions in 2011.
Cathcart was booked into the Pima County Jail on 6 counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Aggravated Luring of a Minor for Sexual Exploitation, Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
