TUCSON - Bereaved parents remembered their children at a vigil Sunday night.

Carol Tilton's son, Richard Morgan, died in a car accident about 15 years ago. He was 30 years old.

"Something will trigger something, and it brings back the memories," Tilton said, "and it can be just like it was yesterday, his birthday, the anniversary of his death."

Compassionate Friends is an international organization for parents who have lost a child at any age or for any reason.

"We're there for each other," Tilton said. "No one tells us to get over it. No one tells us to go on. No one tells us to forget."

The 2nd Sunday every December, about 600 chapters hold a vigil at 7 p.m. in their own time zone, creating a worldwide circle of light.

The Tucson chapter of Compassionate Friends meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at Catalina United Methodist Church at 2700 E. Speedway Blvd., from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Their phone number is 520-721-8042.
