Tucson's international mariachi conference kicks off

TUCSON - One of North America's biggest music festival of its kind began Wednesday in the Old Pueblo at Casino del Sol.

Tens of thousands of tourists will be folklorico-ing their way to Southern Arizona for the next four days for the Tucson International Mariachi Conference.

The first day of the musical celebration began with almost 500 students taking part in a mariachi workshop.

The largest showing came from the students at Davis Bilingual Elementary. The event features a Frand concert on Friday night. On Saturday, the world renouned 'Fiesta de Garibaldi' has an all day performance and dance.
