Tucson woman, 51, flees from deputies, dies in rollover

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriffs are investigating an accident Tuesday night that left one woman dead.

A call was made to 911 at 10:27 p.m. about a suspicious dark sports car with a woman driver inside parked in a neighborhood near Snyder and Bear Canyon Road, Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom Peine said.

Deputies responded and found 51-yeard-old Mary MacGregor-Wolfe behind the wheel of a black Nissan 350Z, Peine said. A records check showed the car was reported stolen and MacGregor-Wolfe's license suspended.

As the deputy was going back to the stolen car, MacGregor-Wolfe sped away at a high rate of speed, Peine said. Deputies later spotted a dust cloud rising near Snyder Road and City View Drive.

The car had crashed off the roadway and rolled over on the north side of Snyder, Peine said. MacGregor-Wolfe was dead from impact and found partially ejected from the car.
