Tucson workers earn less than national average

TUCSON - Tucson workers earn 7% less than national average, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics report.

Other statistics of note include:
· The average worker in the Tucson area earned $20.45/hr in May 2012, about 5% below the U.S. average of $22.01/hr
· Management occupations in the area were highest paid at $42.37/hr, followed by Architecture and Engineering occupations at $39.22/hr
· Architecture and Engineering occupations accounted for 2.7% of local employment, compared to 1.8% nationally
· Office and Administrative Support occupations accounted for the largest share of local employment at 17.4%
