TUCSON - As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, most of Southern Arizona was under overcast skies with even a few sprinkles being reported.
A huge plume of warm air with sub-tropical moisture is moving into the area. We remain very dry at the surface so much of the rain that is falling is evaporating before reaching the ground. The best chance of seeing light showers will continue to be in Southern Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy for the remainder of the evening and these clouds will keep the air mild.
A major weather change is finally headed this way by the weekend, bringing with it the best chance of widespread rain and mountain snow since December. I'll break down more of the details in another update later tonight.
