Two die in Eastside shooting

TUCSON - Multiple shots were fired on the Eastside Friday night during a house party.

One of those shots fired hit a neighbor's vehicle and killed two men.

It happened on the street near Senate and Revolution Loop.

"First we heard three or four cars racing by our house," said a neighbor. "We heard a lot of people screaming and yelling, so we weren't sure what was going on, and then right after that we heard probably about six to eight gunshots."

Police said the shooting happened after a fight broke out at a party of about 50 people at the 7900 block of East Senate Street.

Police said when they arrived, officers saw two men on the street with gunshot wounds.

"When we got up to the scene, one police officer was already giving CPR to a victim," said a neighbor.

Both men died, but a third shooting victim was driven to the hospital before police got there in critical condition.

Friends of the victims were teary eyed as they came by to pick up their cars they left at the scene Friday night.

Neighbors said they still couldn't believe what happened here.

"It's still kind of a shock that something like this would happen in a neighborhood that's so calm and quiet," said neighbor Bryan Valdez.

Detectives interviewed nearly 20 people who were at the party, but many people left before police arrived.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME.
