U.S. Marshals arrest Pittsburgh murder suspect in Tucson

TUCSON - A man wanted for murder and other charges in Pittsburgh, PA, is under arrest here in Tucson.

U.S. Marshals tracked down 33-year-old Jarrel Anthony Liddell Wednesday afternoon, taking him into custody without incident as Liddell left a gas station at Kolb and Escalante.

U.S. Marshals in the Western District of Pennsylvania had developed information that Liddell may have been living in Arizona using his brother's identity. That information was forwarded to U.S. Marshals in Tucson.

Liddell is charged with killing Ronald Washington of Pittsburgh, as Washington sat in a car on January 16, 2011.

Investigators say Liddell walked up to the car and fired several rounds. Another person in the car also was shot but survived the injuries to his arm and legs.

"Tracking down and arresting individuals that commit these violent acts in our communities is a priority of the United States Marshals Service. It is my hope this arrest can bring some sense of closure to the victim's family," said U.S. Marshal David Gonzales.
