LAS VEGAS - It wasn't the prettiest final minute, but UCLA hit the shot that counted. Jordan Adams nailed a contested three with 43 seconds to go, lifting the Bruins to a 75-71 win over Arizona in the PAC-12 Championship game.
Tied at 68, the Bruins and Wildcats went scoreless for nearly three minutes before Adams hit the game-deciding bucket. There were five missed shots and three turnovers during that span.
Arizona made just six of 16 free throws, something coach Sean Miller has stressed throughout the season. The Bruins knocked down 21 of 25.
Nick Johnson led the Wildcats with 22 points and three blocks. Kaleb Tarczewski had 12 points, while Aaron Gordon and Gabe York each chipped in with 11 points apiece. UCLA was paced by Kyle Anderson with 21 points.
The Bruins earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with the win. Arizona is still expected to be a number one seed when the selection committee makes their tournament announcement on Sunday at 3pm.
