UPDATE: Motorcycle rider suffers life-threatening injuries after crash

TUCSON - A man suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing his motorcycle into a tree.

Northwest Fire units responded to the area of Grier Road and Galleno Ave, near Marana and I-10, just after 6:00 p.m. Friday, after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike.

Another rider on a separate motorcycle called 911 to report the incident. A 20-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

He was airlifted to the trauma center at UAMC for treatment of his injuries.

The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Marana Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
