UPDATE: Power outage in UA area restored

UPDATE: Power was restored after an outage on and near the University of Arizona campus. Several buildings at the university were without power, including the Medical Library, Alumni and Vine building, Marshall, the Udall Center, Life Sciences North, Drachman Hall, USB Babcock and the University Services Building.

TUCSON - Tucson Electric Power says about 1,500 customers are currently without power Monday just before noon.

TEP spokesman Joe Barrios said the outage happened at around 11:30 a.m.

Crews are working to identify the issue. Barrios said the outage is focused in the area around the University of Arizona, including spots on campus.
