Suspects in car chase identified

TUCSON - Police have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery and cross-town chase Wednesday.

Officers pursued the two suspects across town through red lights and afternoon traffic-- fleeing from the eastside on Swan and Ft. Lowell and eventually ending near Kino Parkway and 22nd Street, Tucson Police Sgt. Chris Widmer said.

It started when employees at Bank of the West in the 3100 block of North Swan Road called 911 just before noon. Two suspects held up the store and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Tucson Police Sgt. Chris Widmer said.

Police were able to arrest one of the suspects during the chase and eventually caught the other suspect hiding in a storage shed in the backyard of a nearby home.

During the chase, a dog in the neighborhood attacked an officer and was subsequently shot by another. The dog is being treated by a vet.
