VA Secretary Shineki scolded for failing 'to connect the dots'

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki told a Senate committee Thursday he won't resign despite reports of wrong-doing at VA hospitals in at least ten states.

Shinseki faced withering criticism Thursday morning, with senators from both parties pointing to systemic problems at the department he manages, including reports of falsified wait times and staff cover-ups at agency hospitals and clinics across the country.

Veterans' groups and members of Congress have called for Shinseki to resign, and the V-A Inspector General has launched a probe at the hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
