TUCSON - A Pacific push of Winter weather is on the doorstep.
Expect isolated showers and gusty winds up to 25 MPH this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 11 AM until 8 PM for Cochise County and the White Mountains, where winds could gust as high as 45 MPH. Most of the shower activity today will occur east of the Tucson metro, with dry conditions this evening.
The main event for scattered showers and mountain snow comes after midnight, as a cold front plows across the Sonoran Desert. Showers & snow taper off around the noon hour Saturday as high temps struggle to reach the 60's. Valley rainfall amounts of 0.10-0.25" are expected, with 2-5" snow above 7,000 feet.
Overnight lows Saturday and Sunday drop into the 30's for Tucson, with temps at or below the 32 degree mark in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties. Sunday afternoon features a little more sunshine and highs in the mid 50's; a good 15-20 degrees below normal.
