TUCSON - Near freezing temperatures this morning but afternoon highs will rebound quickly.
Another chilly morning will give way to temperatures in the low 60s by this afternoon under mostly sunny skies, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. Clouds increase and the winds pick up to 10-20mph on Sunday ahead of our next cold.
Rain chances increase Sunday night into early Monday as a cold front moves right over the top of Southern Arizona. Valley rainfall totals up to 0.25" with snow levels falling to 4000 feet by Monday morning. Snow totals expected to remain relatively light with elevations above 6000 feet picking up 2-5".
Showers forecast to taper off by Monday afternoon which is good news for your New Year's Eve plans as Monday night looks dry. In the wake of the cold front, however, expect it to be a chilly end to 2012. Highs on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will be in the low 50s with overnight low falling near the freezing mark to kick off 2013.
