SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - A judge has concluded that state regulators followed the law in giving a water-supply clearance to a massive housing development planned for Sierra Vista.
The ruling by state Administrative Law Judge Thomas Shedden denies appeals by the federal Bureau of Land Management and conservationists.
Shedden's ruling Thursday says they failed to prove that the Department of Water Resources should have considered the project's possible impact on the nearby San Pedro River.
The department awarded a certificate of a 100-year water supply to Pueblo Del Sol Water Co.
The company plans to build thousands of homes in its Tribute development and said it can use ground water for the supply it needs under state law.
