TUCSON - Monsoon 2014 has been in hibernation mode ever since the weekend, but signs are indicating an awakening.
A cluster of thunderstorms has fired up over Santa Cruz County this afternoon and Nogales has been receiving moderate to heavy rain at times. Other areas in Cochise County are also seeing some storms developing. Most of the action will remain near the border tonight, while Metro Tucson remains dry.
Meanwhile, it's been a hot day of weather with the mercury climbing above the century mark in the warmest places.
More moisture will move into the region by Thursday for a continued chance for isolated storms before more numerous storms develop by Friday and especially into the weekend.
