TUCSON - Mother Nature is changing the recent weather plot as we head into the weekend. We're trading-in sunny and dry for cloudy and cool - with a chance of showers.
A strong area of low pressure will move into the state late tonight and push through the area on Saturday. Ahead of the system, winds will increase and blowing dust will be a concern as well as high fire danger. Red Flag Warnings, Wind Advisories and High Wind Warnings have been posted for much of Southern Arizona for Saturday.
Meanwhile, enough moisture may be present for a chance of showers anywhere. The mountains north and east of Tucson have the best chance and a few inches of slushy wet snow could even fall above 6500'. The air-mass is cooler and highs on Saturday and Sunday will struggle to reach the mid 70s.
Sunnier, warmer and drier weather will return by next week. Stay with News 4 Tucson on-air, on-line and on social media for continuous weather updates throughout the weekend.
