TUCSON - Hazy skies and diminished air quality to start the day.
The haze is due to outflow winds that kicked up dust during the overnight hours, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Visibility has been as low as 5 miles at Tucson International Airport this morning. Other towns in southern Arizona are reporting low visibility as well.
While the Deer Head Fire continues burning in the Rincon Mountains, smoke is not the cause for this morning's haze.
A Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect from 2-9 PM today because of the dust storm potential later this afternoon. This includes Metro Tucson & the I-10 corridor between Marana and Phoenix.
