PHOENIX (AP) - A Whiteriver man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with a sexual abuse case involving minors.
Federal prosecutors say 51-year-old Samuel James Seymour was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.
Seymour was found guilty by a federal jury June 16 of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, one count of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, one count of aggravated sexual abuse, one count of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of abusive sexual contact with a minor.
Evidence presented at trial showed that starting in about 2000, Seymour began sexually abusing a minor and it lasted for several years.
Authorities say Seymour sexually abused another minor in 2005 and was seen sexually abusing a third minor in 2008.
