TUCSON - Our next winter storm is on the way to southern Arizona to kick off the work week.

A Winter Storm Watch has been put into effect from late Monday night into Tuesday morning mainly for southern Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz Counties. According to Meteorologist John Patrick, a Winter Storm Watch means that there is the potential for significant snow accumulations that could impact travel.

Snow accumulations of 1-3" can be seen between 3,500-5,000 feet with 3-6" of snow possible above 5,000 feet. The bulk of the snow is expected fall in the higher elevations of the Chiricahua and Huachuca Mountains.

Lower valley locations could pick up a quick 0.20" of rain before things taper off Tuesday morning. Mostly sunny skies expected by Tuesday afternoon with warmer temperatures for mid week.
