TUCSON - The numbers are out for the 63rd annual Winterhaven Festival of Lights in 2012, and it shows how generous the Tucson community is, when it comes to helping others.
The festival raises money and donations for the Community Food Bank.
From December 15th-29th in 2012, the Community Food Bank received $20,753.03.
That's up about 7% from 2011. The total then was $18,562.45.
However, food donations were down in 2012, with about 33,905 pounds collected.
That's compared to 45,145 pounds of food donated in 2011.
Jack Parris with the Community Food Bank says "2010 and 2011 were record years we think, partially, due the loss of the city funding for the Festival and that generated a great deal of press coverage."
