Woman accused of passing counterfeit cash turns herself in

TUCSON - A woman suspected of stealing from small businesses by passing counterfeit cash has turned herself in. Secret Service agents tell News 4 Tucson, Tiffany Brennan showed up at their Tucson office this morning. She told agents, "I hear you've been looking for me, here I am."

The 44-year-old is charged with passing counterfeit bills.

For about a week News 4 Tucson CrimeTrackers has followed the suspects activities. News 4 Tucson obtained multiple surveillance videos apparently catching Brennan in the act.

The alleged scheme? Purchasing items with a phony $100 bill, then taking off with the change and the merchandise.

It was video from Dolly Quinn Salon and Spa two weeks ago that highlighted Brennan's alleged passing off counterfeit cash. Brennan spent at least 45 minutes there, even had a cup of coffee. The owner of the salon, Dolly Quinn says, "With as many people responding to what our video was able to show, and the report on TV we're thrilled to death she's behind bars." Quinn adds, that means the public was watching, because they received many phone calls, and emails from other businesses saying they too had been victims.

Secret Service says the investigation is ongoing and there is a great deal of work to be done. They don't know how much money the victims are out. They do know Tiffany Brennan faces a stiff sentence if convicted, anywhere from paying a fine and/or up to 20 years in prison.

Her attorney Brad Roach declined to comment. Dolly Quinn has this message for Brennan.
"I'm proud of you for owning up to it and turning yourself in, that's terrific. I'm sorry it happened."

While in federal court, News 4 learned, Tiffany Brennan was picked up on marijuana charges 11 days ago. Her next court appearance is scheduled for November 6.

Brennan is a convicted criminal. She was sent to prison on a charge of criminal possession of forgery device and a dangerous drug violation. Arizona Department of Corrections show she was an inmate from 2007 to 2009.
